Nissan Leaf sales in the US and Europe have soared in the first quarter, according to a report by Autocar.
The carmaker is now the fastest selling vehicle in the world.
The Leaf sold in the United States and the United Kingdom for more than 2 million units in the quarter, the most sales in more than a decade.
The model sold in Europe sold more than 6.5 million units, according the report, and sold a total of more than 12 million cars in the U.K. and Europe.
The Leaf is Nissan’s first electric car.
The company’s new electric vehicle, the Leaf LEAF, is expected to sell for $27,900, which is a lot cheaper than the previous model, the Nissan Leaf.
